My family asks that you please send our condolences to his family.<br>

I only met him for a short time at our last Youth Academy, but he made
a good impression in the short time that I interacted and observed him
teaching his classes and refereeing the later matches. Ansteorra needs
leaders of his caliber. He will be especially missed because of the
shortness of his Service.<br>
<br>
I would suggest that we create a Langely Award, to be given to the
Ansteorran Youth who best emulates his teachings and the ideals of
Ansteorra and the SCA, if we intended to keep doing Youth Academy
events.<br>
<br>
Since we have discussed not doing one this year, perhaps we could
suggest this to the Crown, as they have indicated that Youth Academy
would, in the future, become a Kingdom level event. Or has an award of
this nature already been named?<br>
<br>
I agree that a discussion about some sort of memorial or gift from Tir
Medoin be on the agenda
at our next meeting. Can some one let us know what his family's needs
may be before the meeting?<br>

Did Michael of Langely give the classes at our latest Youth Academy?
If so, then I can understand your shock, as I didn't believe he was
very old. I also seem to remember that his children were still fairly
young as well.<br>
