Close, Gilli, but in the wrong order: 
Rule #1: Stay alive! (You protect no-one if you're dead.)
Rule #2: Keep your buddies alive. (they help you with Rule #1, and vice-versa..)
Rule #3: Kill the f***ing spearmen! (...or anyone else who's an easy target...)
