Greetings from Bryn Gwlad:

If you're interested in checking out our October event, getting there
from Waco is simple. Please keep in mind the distances given in this
messages are best guesses; I have not actually clocked the distances.
If you want, I will do that and send more exact milages in a day or so.

The event is held at Camp Ben McCullough. As another landmark to look
for, the camp is directly across the road from the Salt Lick restaurant.

Go south on IH-35 *through* Austin. You will cross the Colorado River
(the signs may call it "Town Lake").

About 10 or 12 miles south of the river, take the exit for William
Cannon Drive. Turn right (west) on William Cannon.

Go about 15 miles to US Hiway 290. Turn left (west) on 290 and stay in
the left-hand lane.

Go about 3 miles and turn left on FM Road 1826.

1826 is a two-lane road that winds through the hills. Stay on it for
about 8 miles.

Look for the intersection of FM Road 967, but *don't* turn on 967.
Stay on 1826 and the entrance to Camp Ben McCullough is about 300 yards
after that intersection.

I hope you can make it down. The folks here have been working hard to
get things ready, and there should be a good variety of things to do.
We will of course have combat and target archery events going (my
personal main interest), and the new Baronial Archer will be chosen at
this event. Plachoya Sobaka, the defending champion, apprently will not
be able to attend this year, but he has offered to make 18 combat arrows
as a prize for the new holder.
