Tired of needing an army to set up a culture camp at Elfsea Defender?
Wondering how you as an individual can display your culture?
Try an Embassy!
This year at Elfsea Defender we will be hosting an "Embassy Row".
Individuals or groups may bring a pavilion or booth to display their
choosen culture, close to the list field and their Excellencies. It
allows for smaller groups, including those groups of one, to play host
and introduce us to their cultureof their persona, without having to
break the bank or their back to do it.
Guidelines for Embassy Row:
1. Please have no more than 8 members per embassy. You will not be
excluded from the competition for having more than 8, but we are
encouraging smaller groups to exhibit their culture.
2. All embassies will be located at the "Town Square", near the list
field. Each embassy will have enough space for a pavilion and a
"yard". Please talk to the Chatelaine, HL Allessandre Desiderio for
information about where and when to set up.
3. Please identify someone as ambassador. That person will interact
with the Chatelaine for various information
4. Their Excellencies will be making their usual progress in the
evening before/after Court. To be considered for the Culture
competition, please have members at the Embassy during that time.
5. There will be two categories of competitions for Embassy Row. The
first will be the best culinary (food) display of culture. The second
will be the best overall display of culture. Interacting with the
populous and the tournaments are strongly encouraged!!
6. If an embassy has a culinary display only at one time then they will

need to inform the Chatelaine so that the judges can make it a point to
go by there at the appropriate time. The Chatelaine is also available
for further questions and information.
What can you do as an embassy?
1. Sponsor a weapons-style that your culture used during the tournament
(Tournament is Swiss Five)
2. Teach a class on something done in your culture
3. Host a gathering for singing songs and telling stories of your
culture.
4. Present food of your culture.
5. Perform music, poetry, or plays of your culture.
6. Present dance from the culture
