[Western] A Question

The meaning of the word Ansteorra is a good question. One Which HE Galen of
Bristol answered for me when I asked a few years ago. below is the gist of
the story he told.

Ansteorra is Saxon for one star but not any star. it comes from a reference
made by a Saxon Monk writing about a comet that had appeared in the heavens.
It was one of the times Hailey's comet had passed  close enough to the earth
to be seen by the naked eye in the middle ages. (NOTE. at that time the
comet was unnamed and people did not know what it was)

Of that comet the Saxon monk referred to it as being the "Ansteorra that one
star Singular and Unique in the heavens".

it is from the same description of Hailey's comet that our kingdom  derives
it's Motto Uniques et Singularus  which translates to Singular and Unique.
