No offense taken, but that is hardly a monument to
hese people individually.
We have several roads, and in my fuzzy memory the
ames of those that are no longer with us is fairly
hort (thank goodness). I would still vote to give
ach hero their due, individually.

Very good idea. Would it be in bad taste to
condense them all in to one road? Something like
 Memory Lane or Remembrance Rd?

I have some questions. Please realize that there is no sarcasm or sniping intended in the tone of this email.
What's a suspended group supposed to do while on suspension?
What's a suspended group allowed to do while on suspension?
Do officers with expired warrants become "acting" officers during the suspension?
How are suspended groups supposed to go about proving they should not be dissolved while on suspension?

Thank you,
Bridget the Stargazer

Your Excellency,
Truly this is a noble idea. As one who is supposed to have an interest in keeping our history and looking out for legacies, however, I would advise against that course of action at this time, the reasons for which I would happily share in private with anyone who wishes to know. In no way do I mean disrespect to any of these people, mentioned or implied.

Do remember that names are powerful things. I know none of us would wield a sword without first being aware of the consequences. Likewise, the wanton application of personal names is not without risk. Mostly, I think that the first idea, of naming the main roads after our groups, especially those undergoing dissolution, would be more beneficial, especially in serving to unify those people whose goal it now becomes to reassert themselves in the eyes of the kingdom, as it were.

Of course, this is only my humble opinion, and if it is the will of the populace I will gladly stand by any decision to uplift in any way the names of our brothers and sisters, who have not so much fallen as passed on into the Greater Kingdom of the Dream Everlasting.

Hmmm, not touching that one.  ;-)

Might I suggest that we name these roads to honor
fallen heroes of the West. Master Cad has been
mentioned, but I would add Lord Brett MacNelly, Cheri
(gonna leave the spelling of her SCA name to someone
that knows it), Lady Agnes the Silent, Honorable Lord
Edmund Marshal, Laird Ian McIver (sp?), etc. I would
not suggest the whole name, just the part of the name
that is most recognizable (i.e. Marshall Way). I just
think that it would be a nice way to honor these
friends.

Then if we have roads left, I would either name one
Baroness Way (or some such) or name them directly for
Mistress Anna and Mistress Marthe, since they were the
ladies about which Gothic started.

Just my thoughts,
Kainin
Baron of Bonwicke
