I did like the scene in it where the Persian told them they had enough arrows to blot out the sun, and Richard Egan grinned as he said "Then we shall fight in the shade" 
As for getting older probably so, but then again so what? It does beat the alternative.

  I agree.  Even though it is old and doesn't have the special effects that the new one has, Celonise and I enjoyed it much more than the most recent.  There seemed to be much more of a story and character development in the old one.   Well worth watching.

  In my opinion, the earlier movie "300 Spartans" with Richard Egan is a much 
  better movie than "300". I remember seeing it in the theatre when I was a 
  young child and it was a new movie. It is one of my favorite movies and when 
  I first started playing, briefly toyed with the idea of a Spartan persona. 
  Copies of it can be found at Wal-Mart at a reasonable price too, worth 
  watching.
