I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to those who don't know me. As
of this weekend I'm the New Kingdom warlord.
For those who don't know my name is HL Guy LeStrange, I've been in kingdom
for the last 18 months or so. I've been in the SCA for 12 years and have
lived and fought in the East (4 months), Middle (2 months), Merides (3
years), Atlantia (3 years), the Barony of the Far West (3 years - West
Kingdom) and now our Kingdom. I've been to Pennsic, Estrella and Gulf Wars.
I've fought with the Atlanitan Army four the last 5 Pennsic and with our
Kingdom this past year. I've fought the last two gulfs with our kingdom
also. I've been involved in the training of troops or battle execution of at
one level or another in my last three kingdoms (Merides, Altantia and
Anteorra. For what it's worth I've been training infantrymen and
planning/executing tactics for the past 10 years in the army in Korea and the
82d Airborne. I'm no stranger to training soldiers or planing and executing
battles both in our game and my job as a professional infantry officer.
Now that introductions are out of the way, I have not spoken with his
Highness Duncan as to my duties however I wanted to get a jump on things and
get the organization of the army down in my head. TO that end can the
Regional Warlords email me with their information as to who they are and what
they're email is. Right now I just want the meat eaters at the top of the
food chain so I should be getting one email from each Region. I'll follow-up
with more from there but the types of questions I'm going to be asking are
units under your command, units in your area not under your command
(mercenaries or units fighting other with other groups and loose archers not
fighting with you) and numbers. This is to include archers and siege weapons
Short term targets are find out numbers that we're going to field at Pennsic
for the king, both fighters and support (waterbearers, scouts and the like,
it's always nice to see a friendly face in the woods with water.) And trying
to push fighters to go to support the king.
Long Term is of course Gulf. We'll be talking about that later.
After I speak with his highness I'll follow-up with more.
Thanks for your time.
HL Guy LeStrange
