I am sending this on from a Hospitallers list I am on.  As this weekend is
always with my youngest's birthday, we won't make it till it is something
she wants to do.  I hope many of our fine people will be there to help out
this worthwhile project.

Ladies and Gentleman and Children of all Ages!

Digaling Brothers, and Bantam and O'Bailey Circus is proud to present:

Newcomers Point at Gulf Wars!!!

Did I get your attention? I hope so, because we need your help.  If
you are a Chatelaine, Hospitaller, or other person interested in
helping new members then I have a job for you.  This year at Gulf
Wars we are going to have a place that is designed to help new
members with all those first event blues.


What is Newcomers Point, you ask?  It's a place to get answers, to
get help, somewhere to go if you're not sure what to do next. We plan
to have classes, field trips, and maybe some time to sit and ask
questions that you can't find the answers to.


What we need at the Point are people with some free time during the
war who are willing to spend it helping new members.  We need many
different types of people to staff Newcomers Point and its various
functions. Things we would like to do are:

   1. Short classes on basic garb, researching a persona, regalia,
basic heraldry, camp etiquette, and other basic topics.

   2. Guided tours of the event site, including what's going on that
day, and where.

   3. Help with camp set up and explain how best to use the land you
have.

   4. Hand out maps, and answer questions about scheduled events.

As you can see it's a lot of work, but with enough hands it won't
take much time from anyone.  If this sounds like something you're
interested in, then contact Lord Greggor of Vulpine Reach to
volunteer.
