To the populous of Ansteorra, the Shire of Mooneschadowe sends greetings!

We invite you to the 22nd Guardian Tournament on the first weekend of September (6-8). There will be many competitions: Chivalric and Rapier Fighting, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Bardic, Arts and Sciences, a Chess Tournament, Norse Wrestling and Newcomer Tourneys. Our current Guardian at Arms, Sir Asoph Hearts, will be running the chivalric tournament, so don't forget your pole weapons! The rapier tournament will be of the typical Mooneschadowe Insegnante style, with the winner decreed by a vote of the fighters and list mistress'. Be prepared to set special challenges for yourself to further demonstrate your abilities!

Your days and evenings will be filled with goodwill and merriment as we: Dance, Sing, Eat a Marvelous Mooneschadowe Feast, and Listen to Live Musicians. Feast will be outside, under some of the largest and most beautiful trees in northern Ansteorra. Mooneschadowe will be providing tables, but please bring your own chairs! If you would like more information about the feast, please contact Lady Magdalena da Cadamosto at magdlena at earthlink.net, our most wonderful feast steward. (Please note: Her e-mail address in the Black Star is incorrect. This is the correct one.) In addition to the typical sumptuous Mooneschadowe feast, JP and Ox will once again be serving beverages from their own private stores!

The event site has excellent all-weather camping with plenty of shade, showers and flush toilets. This year we are returning to The Ranch, just north of Stillwater, OK. For those of you who came to Guardian 18 at this site, you know how wonderful it is! A note of warning for those who do not wish to camp, and are planning on obtaining a hotel room in Stillwater (which is less than five minutes away), Friday night is Orange Peel, a huge pep rally for Oklahoma State University before their first home game on Saturday. Many, many people will be coming to see Third Eye Blind and the Goo Goo Dolls, so hotel rooms are going fast! If you are interested in more information, please go to: http://osunet.okstate.edu/orangepeel/.

More information may be obtained in our event announcements and through the ether at: http://mooneschadowe.ansteorra.org/guardian. The web page has an abundance of information, including a map to and of site, as well as a schedule of events. If you have any questions about the site or event, please contact Centurion Jean Paul de Sens at cchipman at nomadics.com or Lady Gilyan Clonmacnoise at agillilan at swbell.net.

May your horses be fleet of foot and your traveling weather fine and fair.

Signed by our hands,

Gilyan and Jean Paul
