The Museum of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas
will be displaying a collection of 31 frescoes from the
Vatican. The exhibit is called, "Medieval Frescoes from
the Vatican Museums Collection". This will be the first
time the frescoes have been displayed as a group and will
return to the Vatican after September. The cool part
is they will not be displayed again for 25 years. In other
words, only in Lubbock.
The frescoes were created by master painters between 1120
and 1300 and removed from the churches of St. Nicola in
Carcere and St. Angese fuori le mura, both in Rome.
Admission is free but reservations for tickets are required.
Contact the museum at 866.803.6873 (tollfree) or 806.742.6800
