Greetings Ansteorra!

For this years celebration of 25 wonderful years of being Ansteorra we have
three Arts & Sciences competitions for your enjoyment. All of the
competitions will be done by pre-registration, as space in the hall will be
at a premium. Please see below for whom to contact about registering.

First is our New Artisans competition. This is a competition specifically
for artisans that have competed in 3 or less judged competitions in their
SCA carrier. For this we will have a sheet for you to fill out of the
Who/What/Where/When/Why/How of your entry. And when you’re done answering
all the questions on the form, you’ve completed your documentation! This
competition will be judged beginning at 9am on Saturday morning, by some of
the wonderful Laurels of our Kingdom. Mistress Kasilda will be heading up
the judging for this competition. Please contact Lady Catalina Ana de
Salamanca at: catalina at ravenkeep.org with your name (both SCA & mundane) and
a brief description of your entry, including approximate size.

Second is the main Ansteorran Argent Anniversary Arts & Sciences
competition. This is an open to all artisans competition with the format
being Single Piece with Documentation. There is no specific theme to this
competition, but pieces reflecting Ansteorran history would be wonderful to
see on display. The judging for the main competition will begin also at 9am
on Saturday morning and will also be done by more of the esteemed Laurels of
Ansteorra. Please contact HE Borek Vitalievich Volkov at
borekvv at hotmail.com with your name (both SCA & mundane) and a brief
description of your entry, including approximate size.

Our third contest is the Largess competition. Entries will be a single
item, which will be donated to Their Stellar Majesties for presentation as
largess to the royalty of another kingdom, or to the winner of an
Ansteorran-sponsored competition at an inter-kingdom event, such as Gulf
Wars or Pennsic. The competition will follow the Steppes Artisan format.
The members of the Order of the Rose will serve as judges and will gift
their favorite artisans with largess and word fame. The competition
coordinator, Baroness Michelle Chantal, and the Landed Nobility of Ansteorra
have teamed together to present the overall winner with a most unique and
valuable prize: complimentary entry into every baronial-level event in
Ansteorra for a period of one year - up to 26 free events! Reserve your
space early - this prize is sure to make this a very popular competition!
The judging for the Largess competition will begin at the discretion of the
Order of the Rose on Saturday morning. Please contact Baroness Michelle at
michellechantal at hotmail.com with your name and a brief description of your
entry, including approximate size.

For those of you who would like to display your talents, but not necessarily
compete, we will have space for display only entries. This space will be
limited and will also be on a pre-registered basis. Please contact myself
at groa at houston.rr.com with your name (SCA & mundane) and a brief
description of your display, including approximate size.

Set up for the competitions will begin at 8:30am on Saturday morning, and
all displays must be out of the hall by no later than noon so that we all my
attend the Coronation activities.

We look forward to seeing all of the entries in each of the competitions,
and on display, in celebration of Ansteorra’s magnificent anniversary.
