[Ansteorra-announce] Steppes Artisan deadline today!

Greetings, Ansteorra!

Today is the deadline for all artisans wishing to compete or display at the
Steppes Artisan competition.  If you have been procrastinating until the
last minute, this is your friendly reminder that time is running out!

Why do we need letters of intent?       Good Question!

We have a new, lovely site, whose management does all the hall set-up and
tear-down for the tables and chairs, so I must furnish them with a floor
plan and hall map for set-up.

As of today at 4:00 pm, we have 23 artisans competing. E-mail me quickly at
xaraxene at comcast.net and let me know if you need a full table or a half
table for your body of work display.

In addition to being able to admire some of the greatest arts and sciences
in the Known World, we will have a History Salon with the topic "The History
of the White Scarves of Ansteorra" hosted by Duchess Larissa. Speakers for
the salon include Don Christian Dore' and Don Tivar, among other notable
White Scarves. A sideboard tea is planned for the salon.

Also planned is a large display and discussion on Historic Rapier Combat
Arts and Sciences hosted by Don Aaron Harper.

We will have a pot-luck buffet. If you have a period redaction or just a
favorite recipe that you would like to cook up and bring to share, this is
the event for you!

It is being helf at the Midlothian Conference Center in Midlothian, Texas,
just south of Dallas, on Saturday, August 13th.
