The competition for Titled Bard of Loch Ruadh took place at Lughnasad this
past weekend. There were a number of talented bards who took part,
regaling me and a panel of judges with songs, stories and poems. Once
again, I was amazed and impressed at the bardic talent within the fair
Kingdom of Ansteorra.

During the afternoon on Saturday, each bard performed a piece for me, as
the outgoing Titled Bard, and then one for the panel of judges. The
judges and I then consulted, and after long and difficult deliberation,
chose three of the competitors to perform two more pieces that evening.
After listening to the offerings of these incredibly talented gentles, I
faced the now even more agonizing decision of choosing my successor from
among them. But choose I needs must do, and at last arrived at my
decision.

I am pleased to announce that the new Titled Bard of the Shire of Loch
Ruadh is Lord Grîmôlfr Einarsson, who will now wear the gules and sable
cloak, the silver harp pendant, and bear the three-legged bardic staff of
Loch Ruadh.

Vivat to Lord Grîmôlfr!

And Vivat also to all who honored our Shire by vying for the title!
