The Society Chirurgeon is the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.’s  
officer in charge of first aid; appointed by the Board of Directors  
and reporting to the President of the Society for Creative  
Anachronism, Inc.  This is an unpaid voluntary position with varying  
hours and requires strong attention to detail as well as good written  
and oral communication skills.

The Society Chirurgeon is required to be a warranted chirurgeon and  
fulfill the requirements outlined in The Society for Creative  
Anachronism Inc. Chirurgeon’s Handbook, for this office.  Experience  
and knowledge of the provisions and administration of the  
chirurgeonate is necessary.  This officer appoints and removes Kingdom  
Chirurgeons in conjunction with the Crowns of the respective  
Kingdoms.  The Society Chirurgeon supports the Kingdom Chirurgeons in  
addressing concerns, reviewing policies and facilitating the Uniform  
Administrative Sanction Process.  Previous appointment as Kingdom  
Chirurgeon is desired, but not required.

The Society Chirurgeon should be very familiar with the governing  
documents of Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. and the handbooks  
for all Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. departments.  This  
officer is required to file quarterly reports to the President and  
Board of Directors, as well as other duties as requested by the  
President and Chirurgeonate Board Ombudsman.  The Society Chirurgeon  
maintains records of serious injuries and illnesses and communicates  
as needed with all levels of Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc.  
membership on those subjects.

The Society Chirurgeon is required to have access to telephone and  
email with the ability for some travel. Other questions related to
