[Ansteorra-announce] Ursae-Lyons III and Baronial Investiture, Oct 16-18, 2009

Greetings Ansteorra,

You are cordially invited to attend Ursae-Lyons III and the Baronial 
investiture of Phuilippe and Suzanne as the 6th Baron and Baroness of 
Bjornsborg.

DATE: Oct 16-18, 2009

LOCATION: Alamo River RV Resort, Von Ormy, TX

FIGHTING: This is a chivalric judged tournament.  There will be si ngle 
challenges, small team melees, bridge battles, gran melees and barrier 
battles.

LETTER OF INTENT AND ARTISAN SPONSORSHIP: The Baron and Baroness require 
a letter of intent to be considered as a winner in the tournament as 
well as sponsonship by an artisan although these things are not required 
to fight.  The letter can be as simple as an email with your name and 
artisan sponsor's, or as fancy as an illuminated scroll or beautiful 
embroidery.  Largesse will be given by Godwyn and Radegund for the 
Letter of Intent that pleases them most.

The Baron and Baroness ask that you bring a token of the artisan's work, 
that also can be anything from a humble loaf of bread to an object of 
high art.  For those fighters who don't know any artisans, talk to your 
local MoAS and Laurels.  You can also contact Radegund, who can put you 
in contact with local Bjornsborg artisans who are willing to sponsor 
fighters.

A&S COMPETITION: The theme is Beginnings and Endings, and 2 pieces 
exemplifying this theme is requirecd.  There will also be space for 
'Display only' items.  Please see the website for more details.

PUMPKIN CARVING COMPETITION:  There will be a small selection of 
pumpkins available, or you can bring you own.  As this contest is 
intended for adults, children may only participate in teams.  Bring your 
own tools.  Radegund will give largesse for her favorite carving.

HNEFATAFL TOURNAMENT - HL Debora is hosting a Hnefatafl Tournament.  See
