Do you love historic European martial arts? Have you always wanted to attend
a training symposium, but the cost or distance to Europe was too great? Have
you always wanted to experience the full historic European martial arts
including equestrian combat? Then the Chivalric Martial Arts International
<http://www.chivalricmartialartsinternational.com/> (CMAI) symposium is for
you.
CMAI is a new HEMA style event being presented in coordination with the
"Lysts on the Lake <http://www.texasjoust.com/> " competitive jousting
tournament. The event is located at the East Williamson County Event Center
in Taylor, Texas and is open May 8th through May 11th, 2012.
CMAI will give you the opportunity to train with some of the finest
instructors from around the world in several aspects of the chivalric
martial arts from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. You will improve your
skills with the longsword, poleaxe, spear, dagger, even jousting and mounted
combat. You now have the opportunity to experience the full expanse of
knightly training and combat, from world-renowned experts in each
discipline.
In addition, participants in the CMAI symposium will also have the
opportunity to use their newfound skills in a series of mounted and foot
combat tournaments during the "Lysts on the Lake
<http://www.texasjoust.com/> " competitive jousting tournament on May 11, 12
and 13, 2012. Show off what you learned in a friendly, but competitive,
tournament format.
