Attention Artisans!
On June 22, King's College will be hosted by the incredible Barony of Bonwicke. At this same event, Their Excellencies will be selecting their next artisan. It has been my honor to serve Them as Their artisan the past year but the torch must be passed on.
There are 2 possible competitions in which to participate: judged and popular. The theme for this year's competition is Almost Period. Their Excellencies are looking for an artisan that knows how a period item would have been made and look like but the item presented doesn't use period techniques and/or materials. For example, the period item would have been made with wool but you used a linen/cotton blend. Or, the item would have been annealed in a wood or coal fire but you used an electric kiln. Your documentation should include a brief description of the item and a comparison of what the period materials and/or methods were, what the single item presented has and why the changes were made. This is a single-item competition.
Presentation of your item is important so don't forget table cover and several copies of your documentation for review. We will provide cups and beads for popular voting. Please complete the attached pre-registration form so that we can prepare adequate space for the competitors. https://forms.gle/kq3hKkFRfRqZGMNZ9
Bring your best and finest and vie for the honor of serving the outstanding Barony of Bonwicke. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me via email at hlykatya at hotmail.com<mailto:hlykatya at hotmail.com>.
