A question on War

I like discovering the differences between kingdoms, and few in the SCA will
drive very far to attend a non-fighting event.  So, if I want to meet people
from other kingdoms, I'll have to go to a war. (or read the Rialto :) 

As a rapier fighter, I enjoy using a spear in armored melees.  I've never
been to a war, but it sounds like fun.
