Christian song of the same name.  I do not know of an earlier Christian
source for "Circles", although there may well be one.

I even know *Pagans* (Myself included) who object to its being sung at 
SCA things or SCA related things, as it's inappropriate both because it
is a Mundane Song, and because it uses uses the fact that most people
are going to be too polite to say anything to kick the "not forcing
anyone to be subjected to a religious display) thing right in the
rear.  Period Christian music is at least *Period*.

Modern neo-Paganism is not.

Besides, it's not religious, and I personally object to having my religion
used as weapon, daring the mainstream and non-religious to open their mouths
and reveal "just how intolerant they are".  It's demeaning.
