For the record, I taught myself to drum at home, and at work, and etc...
on a table top (I had no drum at the time) after having played with other
beginning drummers and an old hand at Middle Eastern rhythems. I wrote
them down as best as I could remember and drove my roommate and
co-workers crazy by banging on tables for hours on end.
