Check out the Halloween costuming section in any of the patternbooks. In 
the past they've even had medieval, elizabethan, & nativity costuming. 
All of these would certainly qualify as "attempting medieval clothing", 
though they aren't the most *accurate* of costuming. And usually the 
men's costuming looks better than the womens.
