Yes, you can resign an award. However, Galen is incorrect on procedure. To
quote Corpora:

Also, to be sure the records are kept straight, you should send a copy to the

Only in the case of a Patent is it required to write to the Board (VII.A.3.a).

I sure wish you had posted this a few weeks ago when I was getting flogged here
for my opinions about the incorrectness of our merit badge system.
