I seem to remember the first Valor I went to had some big melee-type
battle where I *think* one of the ex-canton shires fought its old barony
to retain its independence.

Then there's always that grand ol' tradition we just call Lillies...I
liked the Summer Queens vs. Winter Queens myself.
