When then Kingdom Seneschal Mistress Maire addressed the issue concerning 
negative publicity and perception of the SCA, then Lord Michael de la 
Mare was Kingdom Hospitaler.  Mistress Maire requested that the 
Hospitaler's Office assist with a PR program to present the SCA in a 
positive light.  Hence, the Demo contest was formed.  Mistress Maire and 
the Seneschal's Office handled the legal issue(s) while the Hospitaler's 
Office effected PR matters.
