No Johan, I am afraid it is you who have missed the point.  I have been
on both sides of this issue, and I can tell you that it is not an over
developed sense of moral indignation that drives site owners to ban
alcohol.  It is almost always a liability issue, as has been stated in
many posts.  Those liability issues don't go away if we own our own
site, rather they come home to roost.  In many cases a site owner needs
special liability insurance, etc. if he/she wants to be protected in
case someone on the property gets drunk and hurts themselves or someone
else.  If we own the property, then _we_ could need that insurance. (I
am not in the legal or insurance fields, someone more conversant with
them would need to answer specifics here).  If that is the case, we
might soon find it too expensive to allow wet events on our own
property!  I don't know the law here, and I admit I am stating an
extreme case, but isn't it a little far out to blame a Christian right
wing conspiracy for the consequences of our increasingly litigious
society as regards drinking in the SCA?
