If you want to know what will happen to your computer when the year 2000
rolls around just go to DOS (you know, that archaic operating system that
underlies Windows 2.1), type DATE and enter 12/31/1999 and then type time
and enter 11:59:00p. Wait a couple of minutes (at least over one) and
then type DATE again. Be sure you don't have anything date sensitive
running at the time (Like a BBS program, or a "stale file delition"
program.) My 386 reset the date to something like 1980 (it's been a
few years) but the 486 I'm running now went quite properly to 1/1/2000.

Yes, I know that this has nothing to do with whether or not the 21st
century goes thru the year 2000. It does, but you won't convince those
who want to party both years.
