"Last names" (nicknames, father's names, location names,
inherited last names, attributes ('red'), et cetera) were
developed in period for just this sort of thing.  Where are
you from?  Who is your father?  Do you have red hair, or are
notably short or tall?  What is your profession?  ... All
exap[examples of useful ways to getting a period name and
avoiding having to use your legal name.

Of course, the only computer your persona could possibly
meet is a clerk who does a lot of math.  Some people don't
put any part of their SCA names on e-stuff for just that
reason.  Your call.
