I suspect it would be spelled like this:

Laurel Sovereign of Arms Letter of Acceptances and Returns,
21 December 1999:

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAVE BEEN RETURNED FOR FURTHER WORK:
...

Leon, Principality of Terre de. Name and device. <blazon>

The name conflicts with the kingdom of Leon, a kingdom
that later joined to become Spain. Technically, the
nouns in the two phrases are "Terre" and "Leon",
respectively. However, those commenting stated that
"*designator* of Land of X" is functionally equivalent
to "*designator* of X" -- that "Land of" is itself a
designator for purposes of RfS V.2.a, and thus
transparent for purposes of conflict. Would we register
"Kingdom of the Land of France" for an SCA branch? No.

Since we cannot form a "holding name" for groups, the
    armory must be returned.
