It would, however, have to be very quickly, as the nobles
and those viewing are all waiting for the lady.  Further,
anyone being called into court is likely to be flustered,
which does not help fast, accurate communication.  With that
flustering, if he *doesn't* ask, there's the problem of the
lady getting to the front and only then remembering that she
wanted to have her gentleman friend escort her ...
