As I understand it, a Territorial Baron/ess, one in fief to the crown,
ranks just above the Peers. A Court Baron/ess, ranks just below the
Peers. When a Territorial Baron/ess steps down, they have the same rank
as a Court Baron/ess, but I believe the date is usually counted as of
when they became a Territorial Baron/ess.
