I disagree. I've talked to several nutritionists (one of whom was a 
practicing biochemist) who've all told me that it's far better to drink 
plain water while dehydrated than drinking something like Powerade. They 
tell me the minerals (not to mention the sugars) interfere with the 
water absorption, and actually will keep you dehydrated longer. You do 
lose electrolytes as well when you sweat, but it's not as important to 
replace those immediately as it is the water. Electrolytes are better 
replaced at your next meal after you're no longer dehydrated. During 
exertion, you lose almost twice as much water in an hour than you can 
absorb at the best of times. My advice, fwiw: stick to plain water, 
unless you also need the sugar, and then fruit juice is better than 
"sports drinks".
