Protocol for dehydration is 0.9% Sodium Chloride in water at bolus, and
even bilateral anacubtial via 18ga. cath, if it is bad enough. The Doc
in the E.R. then piggybacks a super packed electrolyte solution to an
infusion port, once the intersticial <sp> fluids are back up a
bit.....but what do I know...Im not a nutritionalist. This is why I
never post here on anything "fact-based," and I'll prolly catch many
barbs for THIS post. Well, I wont see them till Saturday. I got 26
minutes to get a shower, get into uniform and get to the station to pull
a 48 on the ambulance.
