I can relate. My first SCA teaching experience was teaching Gregorian Chant at a Westgate Winter Collegium a couple of years ago. Imagine my surprise when Master Avatar of Catsprey walked into the class. I don't know how much he knew about Chant before the class, but I know from talking to him after class that he knew some. I can only hope that he learned something from me, as I learned from him in the several classes he tought that day.
