Greetings all from Sir Alexis:

The day started with the passing of the torch. Set in 1100, the old
Saxon Master Leofric Ealdricson was finally passing the lands to the
next generation. Though Master Leofric insisted on a Saxon heir, HL
Ulsted the Unsteady, through careful negotiation, and much wealth (ask
someone who was there abut the dowry), a Norman bride, Lady Cateau
D'Ardennes was found. Thus it was assured that the lands would soon be
ruled with those with Norman blood int their veins.
As for the competitions, the new Guardian of the Loch is Sir Godwin of
Eddington, the new Defender of the Loch is Lord Elyas MacCrae. Our new
titled bard in HL Ihon MacFergus and our new Artisan of the Loch is Lady
Agrippina. For each of these champions there was a shower of riches to
add to their manors.
As for the Champions Battle, ten groups sponsored a champion in the
list. Each champion boldly presented themselves before the crown to
declare their intention to compete. A wonderful display was put on by
the champions ranging from the sole champion standing alone in his own
arms to other champions gaily turned out in colorful surcoats bearing
the arms of the group they were representing. Some champions were
surrounded by entire troupes of supporters. It was agreed that the
Canton of Torre de Brazos put on the best show leading their Champion
Sir Godwin onto the field under a brightly colored umbrella and then
retiring to the list side where they shouted encouragement to their
champion. All present also noted the vocal contingent from Stargate
singing out the praises of their champion, Duke Kein, as he progressed
through the rounds. In the end the singing must have helped for Duke
Kein stood victorious. All agreed that the champions battle made for a
memorable list, so we are looking forward to featuring it again next
year, so all champions start planning now to show off that winning
style!
While there is so much more to relate about the day, I shall leave it
to more gifted writers than I.

In service I remain,

Alexis
(Norman for a day, now it's off to take a shower)

> So........
>
> Who won the day? Who won the Champion's Tourney? How did the investiture go? Where awards given out at Court? What feats of daring were committed on the field and at the feast table?
