Any particular kind of embroidery? You might be interested in

my Florilegium. There are some useful ideas and hints from various
embroiderers as well as a number of period referances and book
recommendations. Here are a few of the files in that area:

embroidery-msg (93K) 8/28/98 Period and SCA embroidery.
embroidery-SW-msg (18K) 11/18/97 Stumpwork. A type of raised embroidery.
emb-blackwork-msg (56K) 7/21/99 Blackwork embroidery.
emb-frames-msg (9K) 10/16/96 Period and SCA embroidery frames.
emb-linen-msg (15K) 12/ 2/97 Embroidery linen sources.
Bayeux-Tap-msg (30K) 10/30/98 The Bayeux Tapestry. Book reviews.
p-x-stitch-art (20K) 3/ 1/99 "Cross Stitch Embroidery in the Middle
Ages
                                       and Renaissance" by Karen Larsdatter.
tapestries-msg (35K) 3/17/98 Medieval and SCA tapestries.

My files can be found at either:

Hope this helps get you started.
