opinions follow ... your mileage may vary

*personal* honor and enfoced taxation have nothing in common with one
another ... not even going to open that pay-to-play thread yet again (for
any interested, look into the recorded online histories, this subject keeps
coming up again, and again ad-nauseum).

one point worth adressing ... seems last few years that the concept of
"honor" has been pulled, expanded, mutated, redacted, stretched to fit ...
whatever is convenient (and/or controversial) making a very large rug to
sweep things under .... and is often applied the way the military polices
their world - if it don't move, paint it!. even more disturbing, it has
evolved into a very large club used by the overly righteous to whack over
the heads of anyone who does not follow the currently "accepted" group-think
(guess it is a true crusade agasint the non-believing "infidels" after all
..).

used to be, in this GAME, you were free to challenge a thing you did not
agree with on the merits of the thing, and this was a accepted and healthy
process. but these days as soon as it moves, it gets painted from the cans
labeled "honor" it becomes accepted religious dogma that you are not allowed
to challenge any longer .... personally, i feel it is diluting the concept
and simply goes to show how shallow that concept is becoming.

i must give those who have been redacting these last few years credit ...
they studied their Orwell very well indeed.

'wolf
... honor means living your life the way *you* understand it should be
lived, not to fit into someone elses personal or group mold.

You are correct that membership is not required to participate in the SCA,

However, dont you think it is the honorable thing to do to pay your
membership fees, if you do indeed enjoy the participation aspect, and the
ideals on which this orginization is based?
