Thank you. This is one I haven't heard before.

The story behind various SCA placenames can be quite interesting, both
what they were meant to be named after and what, sometimes, they really
mean. Such as Bryn Gwlad's "land of the nameless hill" for instance.

I have been collecting such stories for over ten years now. You can
find these stories in these two files in the SCA-STORIES section of
the Florilegium:
placenames-msg (110K) 10/ 4/00 Origins and meanings of SCA
placenames.
http://www.florilegium.org/files/STORIES/placenames-msg.html
placenames2-msg (48K) 10/ 4/00 More origins and meanings of SCA
placenmaes.
http://www.florilegium.org/files/STORIES/placenames2-msg.html

If you have the story behind any SCA placenames that aren't in this
file,
please feel free to send me a message that I can add the next time I
update them.

By the way, the one mention I have of the Elfsea name does confirm that
it was named for Lake Worth.
