Inquisition.  the two "political" arms that were most used in
carrying it out would be Franciscan's and Dominican's.  The
Franciscan's were a more peaceful order with good deeds to balance
out the bad, and loyal to the church as a whole (Whermacht)... but
the Dominicans were a militant / political order, that were
essentially Romes political shock troops, loyal only to the Pope (SS)
...
