Elysia also says that new folks are often intimidated by some of us. I was
even told that I needed to work on being more approachable. Since I try to
be cordial to people, especially new people, I'm still trying to figure that
one out. Should I carry a sign explaining that its alright to talk to me?

Excellency, several years ago, having decided to involve myself with the SCA
and living in your fair Barony at the time, I attended a Candlemas
celebration. I found you to be a very imposing figure, but was not
terrified to approach you until I heard you speak. Your "court voice" to
this day, makes me quake in my shoes for fear of having (perhaps) done some
"misdeed" that will land me in the dungeon. It's almost "too" real. I
think though that I would find your speaking voice intimidating whether your
were in persona or mundane, so, as I see it there isn't much you can do
besides stand mutely and hold your sign.

Damask (going off to find Annes now to talk about a persona development
class)
