Lorraine,
You have hit on something I have noticed as well. Many of our people would
rather go to Pizza Hut or a Steak house than stay for a feast. They day
trip an event even when they have to drive 4-5 hours to get there. They
stay off site at motels or at friends homes rather than camp. I have had
some discussions lately over possible new sites to hold events and the
checklist is decadently modern. Site's need flush toilets, showers, a
indoor feast hall with kitchen, etc. Now, I will admit that I am guilty of
this kind of thinking myself. I know that many of us have very legitimate
(at least to us) reasons for not eating feast or staying on site. But I
think that a part of it is that we have become spoiled and lazy. Again, I
will cast the first dart at myself! I have been trying to get back in the
habit of staying for feasts and camping. I think that each of use were to
make at least a small effort to stay for a feast, stay longer if we are day
tripping, and camp when we can we would see a significant change in the
flavor and color of events.

Once upon a time it was a mark of decadence to have a camp with all the
comforts of home, now we just go home to have the comforts.
