This brings up an interesting conversation I was having with some friends of
mine just the other day...
How many Laurel's are currently active in the A&S community? By active I
mean go to at least an average of one event a month, are available at least
a few times a year to judge/teach, and stay involved in current topics
either through sitting circle, the Laurel's list, retreat, etc.?
I could ask the same question of the Knight's and the Pelicans...
Are there more Peers than populous?
More teachers than students?
Just a little food for thought...

Pendaran's response:

I don't know about Pelicans because I'm not connected to that circle, but
being a knight and being married to a laurel, I can lend some insight to the
average numbers in those circles. The knights seem to maintain an average of
about 35 active members. Those numbers fluctuate and may now be a bit low,
but I think that's a pretty good estimate. By active, I'm talking about
people traveling, fighting, teach and attending circles.

According to Jehanne, the laurels have a few more - probably around 50. Of
course, it sometimes feels like we have 50 active laurels here in Bryn Gwlad
alone!
