What is it - this is the fourth list this week that has suddenly sprouted
copyright/trademark issues.

Both the name "Society for Creative Anachronism" and the
"SCA-in-laurel-wreath-logo" design ARE registered trademarks of the SCA,
Inc. You can go to the Trademark Office website (www.uspto.gov) and find
out for yourself. Just because they do not use the circled-R (spelled out
for those whose systems choke on symbols) does NOT mean they are not
registered trademark - that is just a warning, not a requirement.

As for the "WWF" issue, the issue is that the parties had an agreement under
which the World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment)
would not use the "WWF" acronym. Since the World Wildlife Federation had
been around much longer and had used the "WWF" acronym for most of its
existence, this makes sense. However, the wrestling group ignored the
agreement, so the Wildlife Fund sued to enforce the agreement and also
alleged trademark infringement by use of the acronym.
