These guys carry a lot of stuff for slightly later period reenactment,
including barrels and lots of cool toys

Take a look if that's what you are looking for.

Also my brother (who does black powder reenactment) made me a flask off a
pattern from the Mary Rose,
Which I used to use for exactly that, ( until I left it in the car one
summer, and the brewers pitch melted and sealed it shut forever...)

Basically you sew together 2 pieces of heavy leather, and get it nice and
wet, then Pack it with hot sand (to make it poof out)
then let dry. It now holds it shape, melt brewers pitch and coat the inside,
then stain and finish the outside.

Add a cork (on a lanyard) and you're almost home... I'm sure with a little
research you can find a bottle shape that is correct for you period...

As I remember he used a metal tube the size of the hole in the neck and a
dowel rod to pack the sand itto it nice and tight...

If you're interested I'll drop him a line and see if there are any web pages
on how to do it :-)
