[Ansteorra] RE: The question of who we are and how we act in and out of the SCA

Everyone can have a bad day now and then. As adults,
we can and should forgive those 'bad days' and go on -
as long as it doesn't happen every time you see them.

I think Lorraine was referring to people who - in the
SCA - do mean, pushy, back-biting, underhanded,
manipulative, rude things and create problems and then
expect everyone to be okay with their behavior because
they were just doing personna play or venting or
whatever...but then they also expect the same people
they treated badly in the SCA to be friends with them
in the mundane world.

I'm sure we all know someone who does all those nasty
things and then when everyone is good and mad at them
they quit playing for months or years. But when they
come back to the SCA again, they expect everyone to
have forgotten all the nasty things they did and
accept them back into the fold and be their good
friends again. And I'm sure we've all made the
mistake of giving someone like that another chance
only to be burned again. That's when I have to stop
and tell myself that this a wonderful game and I don't
have to play with people like that - there are plenty
of good people in the SCA with whom I'd rather spend
my time.

I'm with Caladin - a skunk in a cat suit is still a
skunk - how appropriate.
