     From a sociological perspective
this happened BIGTIME in Europe shortly
after the Rennaissance. Try checking
the cultural commentary of the
Enlightenment period 91600-1850). ALso
There were mini enlightments before
this for instance the "Carolingian
rennaissance" Might be worth checking
into the research/records on  the
Celtic clan system in the middle ages?
