But the Calontir/Middle border is still a goodly drive from here. :-)

Seriously folks, if you haven't been you ought to consider it. Even if you are
not a fighter, there are still plenty of things to do.
Like over 1000 different classes.
More merchants than any other event in the Society.
Multiple parties every night.
Both the Classic and the clothing required swimming holes.
Wonderful chocolate milk. No not period, but still good stuff.
A large fort similar to the Gulf Wars fort with siege weapon battles.
A field battle with over 1000 fighters on each side. I've both been in the
Ansteorra line and on top of a rise watching the battle. Either way it is
spectacular.
Lots of Bardic Circles, including a very good, period style nightly one at the
Enchanted Ground, Master Cariadoc's encampment.
Nighttime temperatures much lower than here in Ansteorra in August.
Interesting walks, nighttime or day, just walking around the roads looking at
the unique camps and gates.
Folks smelting iron in period style furnaces.
Folks turning wood using medieval style turn lathes.
Folks baking bread and other items in medieval style ovens.
Dancing every night and dance classes during the day.
Archery shooting including shoots not often done here such as the clout shoot.
Four ducks on the lake, nicknamed "breakfast", "lunch", "supper" and "dinner".
Didn't see them last year though... :-)
