PURPOSE: To maintain and administer software and hardware on major
hospital systems. Consults and assists with new and existing applications
hardware architecture, VMS operating system and layered products
installation and upgrades, capacity planning, systems administration,
systems programming, performance monitoring, file systems management;
researches, tests, and participates in standards development; and
problem resolution in a technologically advanced cluster of platforms.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of VMS operating system file structures, commands,
utilities, performance characteristics, management and control;
VMS operating system network stacks management and usage; and PC
applications. A working knowledge of applications running on Hospital
system is required.
SKILLS: Required for completely satisfactory performance in this
job are time management, troubleshooting, problem solving, project
management, and verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or 7 years
of experience with no degree.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3 years of experience in administration of
enterprise level systems or 7 years of experience with no degree.
Experience must be with large operating systems and associated software
in an enterprise-level computing environment. (Candidates with VMS
systems' knowledge and experience will be given preference.)

PURPOSE: The Human Resource Information Technology group at Texas
Children's Hospital is seeking two Programmer/Analyst to fill development
and production roles within the department. The successful candidates
will have the technical ability to develop and support the PeopleSoft
Human Resources Management System and the ability to effectively
communicate complex technical information to the user community.
OPPORTUNITIES: Successful candidates will work on projects relating
to Human Resources systems integration, development, implementation,
problem-solving and ongoing enhancements. If you have the ability
to work well with deadlines, and think creatively to find solutions,
we have an exciting and challenging opportunity for you.
KNOWLEDGE: A minimum of two years experience with Information Systems
is required, preferable working with a Human Resources Management
System. Knowledge of Human Resources standards and practices is preferred.
Additional experience could reduce educational requirement.
SKILLS: Ideal candidates for both positions should have a proven
track record of implementing and supporting application systems,
and strong oral and written communication skills and the ability
to work well within a strong team environment.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business or
other related field.
EXPERIENCE:Programmer/Analyst candidates should have knowledge of
an industry standard programming language, preferably SQL and experience
with PeopleSoft HRMS or a similar ERP application. Additionally,
the ideal candidate will have SQR experience, PeopleSoft application
design experience, and experience with PS Query and Peoplecode programming.
