All I know is that we had the best time!!!!

The event was small, but I knew most of the people on site.  It was like a
family reunion - literally!!  We had cousins and aunts and brothers-in-law,
a great-nephew and a great-niece, and a god-mother.

To me, this was better than just about any event I've been to in a very long
time.  The experience of sitting in on Duke Patrick Michael's class on being
a Page, a Squire, and a Knight, and watching the children listen intently,
was worth the cold and damp weather.  Hearing the squire sing "I was Born on
the Listfield" at the end of the class and hearing the chorus of children's
voices along with him brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my skin.

We had several great meals, hot and filling. Arnbjorn learned the humility
of losing in the first round of a single elimination fight, and discussed it
with the Kingdom Earl Marshall, Sir Randall.  We had the rare priviledge of
sitting in a court presided over by His Grace, Duke Jonathan.

There was love, there was laughter, there was peace ever after......

While I appreciate the Thank You, Youth Academy was put on by the fine folks
of Tir Medoin.  Middleford was delighted to help out with a site and
material support but all the hard work and effort was theirs.  I would like
to say how much we enjoyed working with Tir Medoin on this event.  I hope we
can do it again.

I want to thank the shire of Middleford for the Youth Academy this weekend.
Our boys had a great time.  I wasn't there but everything I heard was good.
The children even persuaded their elders to run a boffer tourney at our
event, Battle of the Pines, the weekend after Labor Day.
Thank you again for helping make this game WE play something we can also
play with our kids.
