Some people have discovered that many of the site
tokens produced by
this
region are just to good to be wasted by throwing them
in a junk drawer.
Collect
up some nice ones and a few other beads and trinkets
and you can come
up with
a nice little "treasure necklace" which I believe is a
period Norse
concept.

I am not condemning of the pratice..I believe I
have done it myself. It is just thyat this would be an
even more colorful 'cool' way to have neat
tokens/insignia for people who have worked extra hard
in a group effort.
Not everyone feels the same way about recognition
of effort needing an award. Certainly, private/public
comments can be used.
However, all awards are in soem form recognition of
the qualities/service/abilities that a person has
demonstrated/possesses. They can indeed be 'cookies'.
I like the person's comment who said that cookies
generally leave a good taste.
IMO, there is nothing wrong with an award that
recognizes group efforts, but still lists the
individuals. This may be a way of recognizing the work
of individuals who might not receive it otherwise.
In the bottom line, awards make people feel nice
about the efforts they have done. The more that we can
do to promote beneficial fun in this pursuit of
personal enjoyment that we do, the better.

Valstarr
